This is an Order of the Eastern Star pin. The pin is a small case that has a retractible and very delicate chain coming out of it. There is a loop at the end that can be used to hold something small. The front of the pin has the traditional Order of the Eastern Star symbols with colored enamel highlights.

Enscribed with: "JOHNSTON OPT.CO" and "DETROIT" on it.

I found this among my father's things after he passed away, but believe he probably got it from someone else. Really don't know the history behind it.

I can't find anything quite the same as it on the internet.
